V. Steve Russell is the founder and publisher of Brer Anancy Press, a hybrid publishing house dedicated to amplifying Caribbean voices and preserving cultural narratives for global audiences. Named after the legendary Caribbean trickster spider, Brer Anancy Press embodies the wit, resilience, and storytelling traditions that have sustained Caribbean culture across generations.

As Executive Director of CARICON (Caribbean Literary, Culture & Heritage Organization), a Los Angeles-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Steve has created an ecosystem where literature, culture, and heritage converge. Under his leadership, CARICON has hosted international conferences across the Caribbean diaspora, established the prestigious CARICON Prize honoring distinguished Caribbean authors, and built partnerships with universities, cultural ministries, and government entities spanning English, Dutch, French, and Spanish-speaking territories.
